Photographs of  Boca Grande Florida

Hurricane Charley

.

This Gaspirilla Island Beach Park at the lighthouse just south of town normally supplied
over a half a dozen shady picnic tables... but it seems the only thing that survived this storm
were the posts and the pay station.

The boca Lighthouse at the very south end of the island seemed pretty well intact for being so out in the open.

But a closer look revealed the broken railings and blown out windows.

The very south end of the island took it the worst.

This street sign tells the story about many of the Boca Grande streets.

It was quite a loss for many of the business and residents in the area... and I'm sure they're all thinking...

Where do we go from here?

And I suppose this young female cardinal on Banyan Street was wondering the same thing.
